Crab
like you've never tasted, a finger licking good curry,

and
yes you will get your hands messy eating this tasty dish!

Ingredients | |||
1kg Crabs- cleaned with shells on | |||
6 Garlic cloves, minced | |||
1" Ginger, minced | |||
2 Green Chillies, slit | |||
½ tsp Tamarind pulp or paste | |||
1 Tomato, chopped | |||
2 Shallots, finely chopped | |||
1 Sprig Curry Leaves | |||
1 Small dry red chilli | |||
1 tsp Garam masala | |||
½ tsp Turmeric | |||
½ tsp Chilli powder | |||
Salt to taste | |||
1 tbls Vegetable Oil | |||
300ml Water | |||
A small bunch of Coriander leaves |

Method | ||

Heat the oil in a pan; add curry leaves and red chilli. Cook for 30 seconds. | |

Next the ginger and garlic and cook for a 2 minutes. | |
Now add the chopped onions and cook until soft and transparent. | ||

Add green chillies, garam masala, turmeric and salt, stir and cover. | |
If you are using the tamarind pulp make a paste with some warm water and | ||
add this to the pan as well, cook for 2 minutes. | ||

Add the chopped tomatoes, the uncooked crab and mix well. | |
Add the water and cook on low heat for 30 minutes, until the crab is cooked. | ||
5.

Garnish with chopped coriander and serve Hot with rice. |
