100g dates, finely chopped
115g plain flour
115g wheat flour
2 tbls vegetable oil
75g caster sugar
2 tbls desiccated coconut
1 large pinch of nutmeg
icing sugar for dusting
In a large bowl, mix both the flours with the sugar and oil, and then add the
dates, coconut and nutmeg. Mix all together and with a little water, bind into
a stiff dough.
Divide the dough into small, equal sized balls and roll out into 1/2cm thick
Deep-fry them until golden brown.
Serve warm, dusted with icing sugar.
