Date Puffs
    100g dates, finely chopped
    115g plain flour
    115g wheat flour
    2 tbls vegetable oil
    75g caster sugar
    2 tbls desiccated coconut
    1 large pinch of nutmeg
icing sugar for dusting

Method
1.
In a large bowl, mix both the flours with the sugar and oil, and then add the
  dates, coconut and nutmeg.  Mix all together and with a little water, bind into
  a stiff dough.
2. Divide the dough into small, equal sized balls and roll out into 1/2cm thick
  discs.
3. Deep-fry them until golden brown.
4. Serve warm, dusted with icing sugar.
